Interview with Ray Pineault, Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment

Mohegan Sun is one of those organizations. In today’s interview, I had the opportunity to speak with Ray Pineault, Interim Chief Executive Officer, Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment on three major projects including being the first Native American Tribe to operate on the Las Vegas corridor with their Mohegan Sun Casino at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas.
Added to their expanding portfolio is an Asian market expansion and an integrated resort in Athens Greece.
Just how does an organization expand during times of crisis – perhaps the worst crisis in over 20+ years? You’ve heard a common theme from my interviews with industry leaders across the country … and Pineault says the same: he credits their expansion and growth as an organization to the support and commitment from their professional team members and Tribal Council.
He adds that much of Mohegan’s success has been about making strong, strategic partnerships with other organizations. Those that understand and embrace the Tribe’s brand of guest service, culture and core values.
Pineault shares that their strategy may look a bit different than other businesses, but for Mohegan, it is critical that it’s about, “Making decisions for what is best for the family … for generations to come.”
