How We Blew Up Our Slot Floor to Adapt

Four months ago, most of us anticipated that changes to our slot and table games operations would be temporary; now we know that our “quick fixes” to address social distancing, limited capacity and safety could be very well be long term or even permanent.

Today we talk to two industry experts on gaming operations starting with Dan Stromer, who has been in gaming operations for over 25 years. He’s a long time general manger as well as patented table games inventor. He’s also a Raving Partner for leadership. As an avid table games player, he shared some thoughts on the future of ETGs in this new environment; we also talk about what we can learn from adaptation of technology in the past and what that can look like for us moving forward.

Also joining us is our good friend, Ryan Bevens, Director of Gaming Operations, Eldorado Isle Casino Hotel Black Hawk & Lady Luck Casino Black Hawk. Ryan is responsible for more than 45 Table Games, 1600 slot machines, and a full service 10 table Poker Room between two properties. Ryan is also a marketing maverick. He shares their approach to designing the right mix based on profitability and productivity and tells us how they “blew up their floors” to address the needs of safety and preferences of their guests; and it just wasn’t about turning off every other game.
