How Tribal Casinos and Suppliers Will Help Native Children and Youth Development

(Reno, NV) – For six years, Tribal casino executives and gaming suppliers have come together at the Native Strong Comedy Slam & Jam to support the Notah Begay III Foundation.

What does it mean to support the NB3 Foundation?

When you support this event, you are helping Native American kids stay active. You are encouraging healthy eating habits and physical activity for future generations. You are directly supporting Native youth sports programs that teach physical education, healthy nutrition and the power of teamwork.

Two programs that will benefit from your support:

The NB3 Soccer Team, ages 9-11, play in the Northwest Rio Grande Soccer League in Albuquerque, NM. The teams consist of Native youth from our local Pueblo communities. The youth participants are coached in game fundamentals as well as supported in the development of healthy relationships with coaches and teammates. Healthy nutrition and hydration education are emphasized for game readiness. Photos attached are from the first games of the season.

The NB3FIT Soccer Program curriculum maximizes physical activity, development of the game, and places emphasis on the player and their individual development. For ages 6-8, the curriculum concentrates on technical development without the pressure of short-term, result-oriented games.

What can you do to help right now?

  1. Bid on a one-of-a-kind signed guitar! NEW for this year, Tribal casinos from across the country generously donated autographed guitars in support of this event. Thanks to their efforts, we have 15 signed guitars and several autographed photos and posters available right now through an online auction. You can bid on these guitars today through the night of the event and you don’t have to be present to win. Watch an interview about the guitar fundraiser
  1. You can simply donate! You can make a donation here to the NB3 Foundation through the Native Strong Comedy Slam & Jam. Every dollar adds to the 80,000 Native youth and families served by the NB3 Foundation since 2005.
  1. Spread the word! Do you have a Styx, Loverboy, Sugarland (see all guitars) fan in your life? Let them know they can take home a signed guitar by one of these major artists – and support an awesome cause doing it!
