Highlights from the 2018 Table Games Conference
What are gaming executives doing to stop the erosion of table games? How will they address the holes that leak away valuable table game profits? These questions were put to the test at Casino Journal's annual Cutting Edge Table Games Conference, November 5 – 7, 2018.
Over 300 attendees, exhibitors and speakers from the gaming industry came together to test new table games and explore best practices. The classrooms and trade show floor were humming with fresh ideas to enhance table game operations across the country.
Raving's CEO Deana Scott shared, "The benefit of this conference is that it is targeted to Table Games operators. The attendees, panelists and vendors have a true opportunity for collaboration. It was amazing to watch their interactions, and hear the creative solutions to solving today's hurdles in the pit."
Members of the Raving team were among the speakers and panelists during the two-and-a-half-day event. Raving's Lynette O'Connell led a deep-dive discussion on player worth and loyalty marketing. Kevin Parker sat in on the cornerstone Table Games Operators Roundtable. And Dennis Conrad shared his wisdom on the future of craps. (View a full list of Raving sessions and speakers here).
Session Highlight - Dealer Tips: Overcoming Barriers on Going for Your Own
With an esteemed group of panelists including Raving Partner, Kevin Parker, long-time industry expert Dan Stromer, and Greg Brenner, Director of Table Games at Tropicana Laughlin, Deana Scott led a lively discussion on managing dealer tips. Raving's Amy Hergenrother shared, "Pooling tips versus go for your own remains a controversial topic with many interesting elements; collusion, shift differences, dual rate challenges, etc. It appears that being 'creative' to suite your PIT might be the answer."
